6. Limit electronic use when you’re together

Make a rule regarding the use of smartphones, tablets, or television when you’re at each other’s company after a long day or week.

If you must, watch something together or just talk about anything and everything. Remember? Communication is always the answer.

However, try not to be too clingy! You’ll know what we’re talking about as you read on.

7. Respect each other’s alone-time

We all need to be alone sometimes to recharge our energies, and it doesn’t always have to do with being an introvert or extrovert.

Just because you’re in a relationship it does not mean that you’ll no longer enjoy your own company or go out with friends without your partner around, so don’t cling too much to each other’s sides or your relationship will grow toxic an unhealthy.

When your partner wants time for themselves to practice their hobbies or simply just think, meditate, or sleep, respect that. Tell them when you need some time alone and they will surely respect it as well.
