For the past decades, psychologists and philosophers have been trying to study and analyze the main reason why smart people are not capable to experience happiness. So, before we dive in into this subject, let’s understand the definition of happiness and intelligence first.
There are way too many levels of happiness than our fingers can count, each one depends on the individual’s personality, and there are different concepts of being smart regardless of their IQ.
Some people are “book” smart, which means they gain most of their knowledge from books and school, and there are other people who are “life” smart; these ones learn how to be intelligent through life experiences without any formal education.
Both of these people have very different perspectives on happiness and how to live. However, the ones who have seen too much and learned too much (whether from books or life), are the ones who are being victims of unhappiness, and that’s what we will discuss in this article.
